About Pedahdic (Peetawtick)
Please sign in to see more. Chief Pedahdic (Peetawtick, Petahdic, Petawdick, are other spellings recorded), was one of the signers of the Treaty of 1827, on behalf of the Chippewa's. He lived at the Black River reserve in Michigan at the time the Treaty was signed.
Chief Pedahdic had six children, and their descendants are listed as they were recorded. When Indian names were given they are listed, and the English names are also included for those who had both. For this site, where last names were required, the fathers Indian name was used in brackets if needed.
I have listed at least four generations, if the family lines extended that far. According to my research, only four of the children have current descendants. The original was started by my great great great grandfather in 1880, and to build on it, I have used different census's, church records, Canada Archives, Ontario Archives, information provided by community members, and other online resources.
When browsing the site, remember all lines start from Chief Pedahdic. I welcome any additions or corrections that anyone has to offer. Miigwetch.
